Punta Gallery is established in 2021 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Its focuses on installative and deconstructed art, generally kept off the walls, that through the use of somewhat subversive aesthetics, media and approaches, provides artists with a carte blanche for extensive artistic experimentation. The space shares a common programme with POSTA SPACE - a project space, situated in a vitrine at a central boulevard in the capital, which emerged during the pandemic as a reaction to the restrictions, with exhibitions to be only viewed from the outside. POSTA&PUNTA’s programmes often work in sync, as one project could extend into both spaces at the same time. In addition to established and international artists, the gallery has a strong focus on the local young scene, and since the beginning of 2023 runs a mentorship programme for debuting artists.

From November 2024, Punta Gallery changed its address, moving to the Women’s market in Sofia, the oldest functioning market in the capital, dating back to Ottoman times.

The curatorial focus for 2025 is entitled “Market of Desire” - an all-encompassing subject, including a wide range of topics - capitalist realism and its impact on traditional culture and communities, shops as a mirror of the times and the longings of the people who inhabit it, but also the market as part of the ecology of the city. Happening in a former fish shop, second-hand clothes shop and now gallery, the programme will consider shops and their windows as mechanisms for creating imagination linked to the collective dreaming of a city.
